Really Simple CAPTCHA not displaying image

  • Already tried deleting this plugin and reinstalled it but have the same issue at https://stokrozen.nl/contact/ where the CAPTCHA code does not display.

    There are also two Directories in Uploads called:
    1. wpcf7_captcha
    (this one contains .htaccess)

    .htaccess code:

    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    <Files ~ “^[0-9A-Za-z]+\.(jpeg|gif|png)$”>
    Allow from all
    </Files>

    2. The other Directory is this one:
    wpcf7_uploads

    … and I tried to delete from the server directly, hoping it would recreate itself in the installation again but it told me it was owned by Apache and couldn’t be deleted.

    The point is I don’t know if it is relevant, but when I try to open that second directory I get the “Directory Listing Failed” message in FileZilla FTP client.

    Lastly, there have been parallel issues with not being able to upload to Media, so I recreated the folders and replaced on the server using FTP and that resolved the media upload problem but broke the CAPTCHA.

    In the meantime, I have removed the CAPTCHA from the contact page so at least temporarily I can still receive messages.
