Really Slow Site

    Hey all,

    I’m new here, and recently set up a wordpress for my brother at Globat. However, recently the page has become obscenely slow. I doubt this is due to traffic or a very large database, since the page has three posts and to my knowledge no genuine visitors. To give you an idea how slowly – the login page takes almost 6 minutes to load, and another 5 to log in. The main page loads quickly partway, but takes a long time to finish.

    My brother edited the source code a tiny bit, but just for font colors. I’ve not changed anything.

    Any clue why it could be running so slowly?

    UPDATE (not solved, though):

    I’ve tracked the error to the mySQL interface, I believe, since both cgi and html are working at normal speeds. I haven’t a clue why this could be, it seems like WP is having a hard time pulling the data from the mySQL. I’ve filed a trouble ticket with the ISP, since “slow mySQL” was one of the problems in the pull-down menu, I think it might be on their end.

    It was a little slow to contact the server but once it did, it loaded fine. Around 30 secs on a 512k connection.

    For whatever reason, the server has picked up again. I guess it was just a temproary problem. I’m considering this closed.
