• Hello all,

Really, just one question to WordPress developers : Why wasting time and energy to create something like this while you know that 70% of WordPress users are Professional coders ! We love use the SIMPLE editor.. without geting this Block features.. blablabla which SLOW down everything.

Plus, why the gutenburg force me to use Paragraphs…and force me to use its own code… i think it’s beter to keep the old editor that all WordPress users are used to… integrate new features is good but keeping the things simple to use is more better…

    Best Regards

  • Hi there! I’m a designer who happens to have a particular interest in user research and data-informed design, and one of the things I’ve actually really struggled to understand is the overall composition of WordPress’ user base: I haven’t been able to find data anywhere!

I didn’t know that 70% of WordPress’ users are professional coders. Do you have more data about the overall user breakdown to share? This would be extremely helpful for guide product decisions in the future.

Historically, a lot of contributors to the WordPress open-source project have been developers. Guteneberg is a new approach in that we’re trying harder to make a product that works for non-technical users, who often struggled with the previous editor. It’s tricky making a product that works well for everyone, so we’ve still a way to go! What’s one thing that we could do to make the new editor better for you?

You might be happy to hear the Gutenberg team has been working on performance improvements. There’s an older issue discussing performance improvements and the most recent release features a number of performance improvements that you may appreciate.

In the meantime, the Classic Editor is just one click away: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/
