Rearranging photos doesn’t work on touchscreens

  • Hi, thanks for the great plugin!

    It seems I can’t rearrange the photos in a gallery when I’m using a smartphone. I tried it both in Firefox and Chrome (also using the desktop modes). Am I missing something or is this a bug?

    Hello, Thanks for the information.
    In the plugin, I use the built-in WordPress MediaUploader. Sometimes, for reasons unknown to me, this component does not work as it should (to solve this problem I changed the theme of the site). You can try to create WP Gallery (native) and try to edit it in a modal window (and tell me about the result). The native WP Gallery uses the same MeediaUploader (editor).
    I want to replace the media editor in my plugin and am working on it, but this will be later.

    I’ve tried the native WordPress gallery and I can’t rearrange the photos using the same modal that your plugin shows either. But the WordPress native gallery does offer an alternative method. When you click on a photo in the page/post editor you see two arrows which allow you to move the photo left or right, see this image. This method is not available in your plugin because it shows the lightbox slideshow when you click on an image in the editor.

    WordPress seems to be working on better gallery rearranging though as you can see in this issue and this issue.
