Rearranging pictures in Gallery formate

I’m interested in this as well. Additionally, I can’t seem to rearrange the photos even when initially uploading them. WordPress 4.1.

Hi spinatwachtel and iueweb.
The gallery slider built into the theme is created differently than a default image gallery. The one caveat is that you cannot create the gallery slider using images already in your Media Library; the images must be uploaded separately into the post.
1. Set the post to the Gallery format.
2. Click the “Add Media” button, either the one above the editor or the one below the editor in the the Format:Gallery option. This will take you to the default Insert Media screen, displaying images in your Media Library.
3. Use the Insert Media screen, not the “Create Gallery” option on the left.
4. Select the Upload Files tab.
5. Upload the images you want to include in your gallery; they will be added to your Media Library.
6. When done, just below the Upload Files tab, select “Uploaded to this post” from the dropdown list. This will show the images you have uploaded that will be included in the gallery.
7. Here you can add additional images, rearrange the images, change the details or settings, or delete them.
8. That’s it. Close the Insert Media screen using the “X” in the upper righthand corner; you’ll be returned to the post editing page. Don’t click the “Insert into post” button in the lower righthand corner.
9. The images in the gallery are NOT displayed in the post editor. To see them in the slider either preview or publish the post.
10. To change the gallery select either of the “Add Media” buttons, and then “Uploaded to this post” in the dropdown list.

I know all the points 1 to 9. In this way I could insert the gallery into the post. But this isn’t the problem. When I have insert the gallery and published the post, I don’t find a way to change the sequence of the photos after done this. I thought your point 10 could help but it doesn’t. I can change the pictures in the media area but there is no change in the post. You may look here: https://mainzauber.de/elke/friday-greens2/
In this gallery are nine photos. In the media area I can remove some of them or rearrange the sequence the but in the post still persist the gallery with nine photos.

Hi spinatwachtel. I just ran a quick test on a clean install of Hueman and was able to rearrange the order of the images in the Media Library and the slider reflected that change. Maybe there’s a conflict with the Fancybox or Nextgen plugins? Or maybe the page is being held in a browser cache or other cache somewhere?

bdbrown I followed your steps but I still could not rearrange the gallery at any point.

This is a real issue for us photographers and I hope it’s addressed with an update.

I just updated to 4.4 and still cannot move my thumbnails around in gallery mode. Do I need to contact the theme developer? I’m using LoveMeDo.

This forum is for support of the Hueman theme. The process I described works in the Hueman theme using the flexslider and Gallery post format which are built into the theme.
