Rebuild permalinks from title

Hello,

We have over 1600 pages with permalinks that are not correct. Many of them are using postIDs for the slug due to the way the dev imported everything.

Is there a way to rebuild all the permalinks for a custom post type based on the title?

We tried going to settings, turned off permalinks to “plain”, saved, and then setting it back to custom using the postitle, saved, but that didn’t actually rebuild any slugs.

I tried a plugin for regenerating permalinks, but it didn’t do it correctly. It added things like colons, apostrophes, parenthesis, quotes, etc. into the actual URL. Whereas wp appropriately removes them.

Any ideas for this issue?
