Sorry for the delay in responding – other projects have gotten in the way, and forgot about this.
To answer your question, if you already have a recaptcha thing going for your comment form, adding this plugin should not affect it. The plugin uses standard WP ‘hooks’, so there should be no compatibility issues.
Note that a recaptcha will not affect bots that submit directly to your WP comment code. When you install the plugin, the settings/info screen (there aren’t any settings) will tell you why, and porvide you with a CURL command you can run from your command prompt that will show how easy it is for a bot to submit a comment – and how this plugin will block that attempt.
