reCAPTCHA Integration causing messages to be marked as spam

What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

Same problem here, adding [recaptcha] avoid my form to be submitted.

In the browser’s console, grecaptcha.getResponse() return me some value if I checked the checkbox.

But CF7’s feedback return me an error :

The theme was a custom build. Plugins used on this site:

• Yoast
• WP Super Cache (tried disabling this already when testing form)
• ACF Pro
• WP Smush
• Post SMTP

I’m seeing the same response in the browser’s console that @shinji251184 mentioned in his response above this.

Try deactivating all other plugins and switching to the default theme. You are also using “email-subscribers” plugin, aren’t you?

Hi @takayukister, I’m having the same problem as the 2 people before.

I have tried your suggestion to @evanjenkins and it has made no difference.

My list of plugins includes Yoast, and W3 Total Cache, among many others, but it still didn’t work after changing theme and disabling all plugins but Contact Form 7 and Contact Form 7 Captcha.

I’ve tried about 3 or 4 alternatives that add reCAPTCHA and all produce the same result.

When I remove the [recaptcha] tag, the form submits immediately.

I have worked around the problem using plugin Contact Form 7 Captcha by 247wd and adding the tag [cf7sr-simple-recaptcha] to my contact forms.

Wordpress 4.9.6 with a variety of plugins including Yoast, as you both have.

Yes, you’re right I am also using “email-subscribers” plugin which I forgot to include in that list.

I was eventually able to get the form to submit by deactivating all other plugins and switching to twentyseventeen theme. Leaving all other plugins deactivated and switching back to the custom theme causes the issue to come back again. I’m assuming that means there is something inside of my theme that would be affecting the reCAPTCHA integration? This seems strange as the theme isn’t really doing anything out of the ordinary. @takayukister do you know of anything specifically that might cause this sort of symptom that would give me a place to start troubleshooting the issue?

For the time being I have gone with the plugin suggested by @specgeo and am able to use the reCAPTCHA from that plugin along with my theme.

Thanks, @specgeo ! I was having the same problem, but was able to solve it with your work around.

I had this problem a few months back and also just got it working with “Contact Form 7 Captcha”. I had to first deactivate “CF7 Invisible reCAPTCHA” by Vsourz Digital.

Thanks guys! I was having the same problem and didn’t know what the problem was. Then I did what SPECGEO suggested, and it works like a clock now! You saved me a bunch of headaches and work.
