• Hi,

for some reason when i goto my admin login page, it now has the recaptcha system enabled. I did not install it and frankly do not want it there as it hardly ever seems to work.

I have looked through the forums and tried the suggested solutions but they either do not work for me, or the files the methods suggest are not present.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I’ve just encountered the same thing on a client’s site.
I had logged in on Monday to do maintenance, nothing to update so left it alone.
Now (wednesday) the “are you a robot” pop up appears and won’t go away at all – no way to log in.

Looking at the OP’s link, this is the same thing I’ve seen here.
I tried restoring the DB from last month, no change.
I’m in the process of copying last month’s backup files to an alt folder on the hosating and will swap to that to see if that makes a difference.

There were no file changes that I know about, and the client (aledgedly) hasn’t logged in since I was in there on Monday.

… is this a hack perhaps?

… interesting. Another client is having the same problem.
    This is a worry!

Okay, so I restored all files and the DB from Monday when I was able to log in successfully and still cant get past the recaptcha. Looks like something external.

Seems to have cleared itself now?

Ian you seeing it okay on your site now?
I tried your link and it goes into the login as normal now. (phew!!)

go to the login URL, but DO NOT click it straight away… wait a few minutes and then click it the captcha images will appear, complete it and you can get to the login screen.

this has worked for now, but i do not really want the recaptcha system in my login screen.
