    Hi.

I’ve installed and set up the CookieYes script, following the steps to add the scripts manually, as it’s explained in the help section of your website (https://www.cookieyes.com/documentation/google-consent-mode-v2-integration-with-cookieyes-wordpress-plugin/):

    1. Custom Consent Mode script
    2. gtag / GTM script
    3. CookieYes script

I think it’s all working ok, but now the recaptcha script (used by th Contact 7 plugin) is not working.

I’ve set up the “rc::a” cookie (detected automatically by CookieYes) as “necessary”, you can see here: https://snipboard.io/ESngGL.jpg

I’ve setup on the same way the “rc::c” cookie (CookieYes had not categorized it as “necessary”)

I’ve added the “_GRECAPTCHA” cookie on the samy way.

    I’m using recaptcha v2.

I’ve tested and the recaptcha it’s only shown if you accept all cookies.

I’ve selected the “disabled” check at the “Banner display status” option while we trying to resolve this, because I need to receive forms.

    So…

    1. How can I get that the recaptcha works, although the user not accepts the cookies banner?
    2. Why the cookies banner blocks these “necesasary” cookies?

    Regards.

    Hi @tutumu,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

The issue is due to the NID cookie being blocked in the Advertisement category. The Script URL pattern of this cookie is “google.com”.

    Hi

    Three questions:

    1. I’ve temporally solved the problem, changing at the Contact Form 7 module the option “source of recaptcha” from “google.com” to “recaptcha.net” domain. You can see it here: https://snipboard.io/k7wxUv.jpg By this way, the recaptcha is not blocked by CookieYes and the forms and recaptcha works ok at the front
    2. I think the “NID” cookie is correctly classified as a publicity cookie. At cookiedatabase.org website is shown in this way: https://cookiedatabase.org/cookie/google-ads-optimization/nid/ Can you review or explain your afirmation?
    3. You have not answer my 2 questions on first post. I appreciate if you do it, so I can solve some doubts.

Now my website is as I explain at first point: CookieYes active, and Contact Form 7 set up in the explained way.

    Regards.

    Hi @tutumu,

We have already addressed your previous questions in the last reply. But surely we will elaborate on this point.
Previously, the Recaptcha on your site was blocked as its cookies were set from google.com, and the NID cookie in your Advertisement category was blocking google.com
We won’t block Necessary cookies unless its Script URL pattern is in any other Non-necessary category.
Since you have changed the domain of the recaptcha cookies, it will be working fine.
We have classified NID as an Advertisement cookie, as Google sets this cookie for advertising purposes.

    Hi.

    Thanks for your explains.

I have a doubt. So if a domain uses 2 cookies (per example 1 necessary cookies and a optional analytics cookie), then… CookieYes always block both cookies?

I still have the doubt about the cookie uesd by reCaptcha. If you read the FAQ at tehir website, they speak about the “GRECAPTCHA” cookie: https://developers.google.com/recaptcha/docs/faq. WHy do you think that reCaptcha uses the “NID” cookie?

    Regards.

    Hi @tutumu,

If multiple cookies have the same Script URL pattern, we will block it if any of these cookies are present in a Non-necessary category.
From our previous response, we didn’t mean that the NID cookie is set by reCaptcha. It might get set from any Google services integrated into your site. For clarification, we recommend you connect with that respective plugin’s support.

    Hi.

Ok, since we have changed the domain in the forms plugin from google.com to recaptcha.com there is no problem.

I have a new doubt. We are using the manual script (not the plugin) because is the way to get the required order for the Google Consent Mode v2. But, the code of your script could change in the future? How can we know it? And, if we use the manual script, we can erase the plugin (now disabled), isn’t it?

    Hi @tutumu,

You shouldn’t keep the plugin while using the manual script.
The CookieYes script will be regenerated when you make any changes in the web app, but the script URL remains the same.

    Hi.

Ok, I understand it works as the GA4 script of Google, for instance… Perfect.

    Thanks for your support. Regards.
