For some reason I am getting issues with recaptcha V3 and Contact form 5.1.1. (LAtest WP install)
When I complete a form it won’t send, and I see an orange bordered message that says

“Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method”

According the plug in DEV, an orange border means spam. Delving deeper, I see the link below (Opens in a new tab)

    Contact form 7 site

I have tried clearing site caches, and had the hostco do the same, it does not matter, the forms just keep displaying that message. What if VERY odd, is that if I REMOVE the public + Private keys from the Integration option of the contact forms menu area, then the forms will send. It appears that recaptcha V3 does not like contact form 7 for some reason, but I can’t pin down what it is. Has anyone seen similar behaviour or have a fix/suggestion. We get shedloads of spam when V3 is off.

    I AM investigating…. ??

If it is any help to you. I might ask if you use a plug in called WP Rocket in your set up? I have another site which uses recaptcha V3 AND WP Rocket.
If I turn WP Rocket off completely, this works, if I turn off one of the checkbox options on WP Rocket (render blocking js/css one of the two) then this will also work.

Unfortunately just to be awkward, this site only has CF7 and recaptcha V3, WP Rocket is completely disabled, so I can’t pin that on this error.

Sometimes, beating the cache clear to death on sites that have had this will fix it, If anyone has answers on tis 2 posters would appreciate it.

Thanks Neil, been there done that ALL our V3 sites are correctly verified, and DO show the icon.
We have other sites that work fine with V3 and Contact form 7, just not this one, hence V3 is off.

    In an act of desperation.
I deleted the V3 recaptcha keys on the site 4 days ago, the poor client had to receive all sorts of crap from idiots who if they had half a brain, would realise, if I wanted “Hot Viagra Girls” people would enter that into a search engine.
Anyway creating new recaptcha keys seems to have helped and all is working ( on that site)
I suspect this was to do with caches and NONCE settings, but cannot definitively prove this either way.

Have you been successfully receiving submissions since you’ve deleted keys? And I mean legitimate leads, not your test leads. I too have tried deleting and recreating keys and reintegrating but the problem persists. The form always fail on the first and sometimes second submission attempts. If you hit submit enough times, eventually it goes through. But normal users will not know to do this.

I’ve tried all of these options too. When I deleted the keys, and created new ones, it worked for a day then went back to failing. Even after dumping cache. Nothing seems to work long term.
