    Hi there,

    in the bottom of my contact formular is a reCAPTCHA-message: “Fehlerhinweis für Inhaber der Website: Schlüsseltyp ungültig” (“Error message for website owner: Invalid key type”). Here’s a screenshot: https://mega.nz/#!vZtFAC6J!GBc9u-cEe05vOT-9ePvXg9DSSlx5KjxKNB3JWfTCt2c

    Everything is updated and the problem appears on all of my websites. I’ve already deleted the domain in Google and setted it up again, but still the message.

    Can you please help me?

    Thanks an best regards,
    Timo

  • Hi @tikoqu,

    Thank you for the screenshot. The error seems due to the site key and secret key conflict. Make sure that you are using the correct site key and secret key in the site and also ensure whether the keys are for v2 visible / v2 invisible or v3 Recaptcha.

    Maybe you can follow this documentation https://docs.wpeverest.com/docs/everest-forms/tutorials/how-to-integrate-google-recaptcha/ and see if everything is set up correctly.

    Let me know if you need further assistance and I will get back to you.

    Regards!

    No, there is no conflict with the keys. The problem appears on round about 15 websites and some days ago everything was fine.

    I’ve set some websites to reCAPTCHA v2 and that works without any problems.

    Hi @tikoqu,

    Seems outlandish. I would like to request you to contact our developer team regarding this. You can create a support ticket here https://wpeverest.com/contact/ and let them know about this strange behavior. Someone from the team will get back to you soon.

    Regards!

    I am having the same issue. I tried a few days ago. Deleted the domain from Google ReCAPTCHA. Added it back in selecting V3. Generated new keys. Copied and pasted them into my form settings to no avail.

    Today I did that all over again BUT I also created a new form first and am trying that but also to no avail. I keep getting (at the bottom): ERROR for site owner: Invalid key type when you go to the form.

    The page did used to have a V2 form (which had stopped working properly… I was getting lots of spam through it).

    The following images (part erased for security) show my keys in both Everest and Google:

    Everest

    Google

    Forgot to mention that the form (both the old one and now the new one) have V3 recaptcha set.

    Have the same problem with Everest form and recaptcha v3 but with slightly different message:
    Error for website owner: Invalid site key

    Tried to remove the domain from Google and create a new one (v3). Pasted the new keys to Everest form: Same error

    https://vidablick.org

    Tomas L?nngren

    Tomas

    I am getting that same error too.

    ERROR for site owner: Invalid key type

    Strange thing is… if v3 is secret, I wouldn’t have thought it would display any box at the bottom let alone an error.

    Hi again,

    @cybecom @tomaslonngren
    I’m “happy”, that I’m not the only one with this error! ?? As soon as I have a solution, I’ll give it to you.

    @sharmadpk03
    I have already opened a ticket at your support team. At first, I only got a standard answer, that I’ve to check my settings. I hope, we’ll solve the problem soon.

    Best regards,
    Timo

    I’m having the same issue. I converted the form to V2, and while the error disappeared, form submissions fail. It’s a rather troubling issue. Any news on a correction?

    Same here ??

    Hi all

    I also have support working on it but I did notice last night that hovering over the ? help for the Site Key said to enter a V3 Site Key and hovering over the ? help for the Secret Key said to enter a V2 Secret Key. I only entered the new V3 keys. Somehow the plugin script is confused and because half of it is expecting a different key, it is reporting a key invalid.

    What I haven’t done is deactivate the plugin and delete it completely before reinstalling. I will be patient and wait for support (when they come back online) to manage that if they need to. It could be that an underlying permission problem has prevented one of its files updating which is why it’s in this half/half state. This (or something similar) might explain why only people who have moved from V2 to V3 recaptchas are having the problem. (So a complete delete of the plugin and reinstall may resolve that but be careful as you will lose forms – and probably any historic data captured by those forms – and your shortcodes will end up with a different number.)

    Regards
    Michelle

    @cybecom
    You’re right. When I hover the “?”, I can read it two. I have to enter the v3 site key and the v2 secret key.

    @sharmadpk03
    Can you please fix this? I think, that this is the problem.

    Best regards,
    Timo

    I have the same problem
