• Hello,
I configured and scheduled an email to send the most recent articles.
Once the new article of the day was published, I checked that it would be integrated into the mail with “preview” and it was good.
But the last article does not appear in the email received by subscribers!

    Hello there @entrepriseheureuse ,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Can you kindly confirm how many articles you published and how many where supposed to be included in your post-notification email?

Can you kindly confirm how many posts you had set up to be displayed in your post-notification email?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hello, thanks for your answer and sorry for missing it.

I published one article since the last post-notification email.
And this only article didn’t appeared.
I have set up 5 articles to be displayed in my post-notification email.

In the preview, everything was fine : 5 articles, with the newest one.
But in fact, this article didn’t appeared in the real mail.
So, basically, the new post-notification mail had the same posts content than the previous…

I had to copy and resend the mail urgently…

    Hi there @entrepriseheureuse,

First, I just want to clarify a few points regarding expected behavior with Post Notification emails:

    • When a Post Notification email sends, it will only include new posts that have been published since the last time the email sent. In other words, even if the email is set to display Maximum 5 posts, if there has only been a single new post published that matches the configured criteria then it will only include that one new post.
    • The “Preview” in the email editor does not necessarily match what is going to be sent out in the actual email — it used for demonstration purposes so you can see an example of what the email will look like (in terms of number of posts and design), so that you can adjust display settings and so. However, the posts in the Preview are not necessarily what will be sent out when the email actually processes and sends (i.e. it will only send new posts).
    • More information about all the expected behavior with Post Notifications here: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/238-faq-post-notifications

Considering the above, based on your description it sounds like you are seeing the exact opposite behavior: it did not include your newly published post, and it re-sent the same posts in your previous email.

So that we can take a look, please send over:

    • Links to the previews of the two sent emails (from the “View History” page of that Post Notification email)
    • Link to your Blog/Posts page on your site
    • Screenshot of the configuration for the Post Notification email (in the Email editor, with the Automatic Latest Content block selected, showing the settings in the sidebar). I recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply here.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for your answer.
To be honest, I have already been disappointed by this type of behavior for automatic new article alert emails. That’s why I do it manually, in an email “newsletter”, with a block “last automated content” including the last 5 published articles.
So I think we’re not talking about the same type of email.

I just saw, trying to retrieve the preview history that now the preview matches the actual result that was sent.
But this was not the case before sending, otherwise I would not have sent it.
My site is in French, I do not see any “view history” or anything that approaches it, I am sorry.

    This is my site: https://enterprise-heureuse.com/
    And the screens:

    Correct preview: https://snipboard.io/HiYsfA.jpg
Incorrect preview (which appeared with last post before sending): https://snipboard.io/b1Jk4c.jpg

P.S. Thank you, snipboard is very effective!

    Hello again @entrepriseheureuse ,

Thank you for getting back to us.

If I’m getting you correctly, you do not use the post-notification email. Rather you manually insert your latest posts using the “Last Automated Content” widget in a newsletter?

Can you try using the Posts widget instead? If the the “Last Automated Content” isn’t working for you? This way you’re using the posts added will be the same when sent.

I’m suggesting this because the last automated content widget was specifically designed for automatic post-notification emails and since you’re not using that feature, using it for manual newsletters might not work so well.

    Can you try this instead?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,
Thanks again, but what you’re proposing here doesn’t meet my needs, because the goal here is automation. By planning the shipment in advance of the latest articles.
Which is the purpose of the “Last Automated Content” widget.
The email is delivered thirty minutes after the publication of the article. So when I plan the email, the target article doesn’t appear in the “Articles” widget list’s yet. Because it’s not published yet.

I was waiting for the next mail to see if it does the same again (this morning).
The content of the widget is the same as the one sent by mistake in April: the last 2 articles were amputated!
Everything was fine in the overview. But the 2 last articles (April and May articles) don’t appear in the email sent.
I don’t understand, because I’ve been doing it for a long time, without any issue.
    I did screens.

    Before sending : https://ibb.co/ykmvSDf
    Mail sent : https://snipboard.io/sHFE1Z.jpg

So I had to, for the second time in a row, send the same email to my subscribers who may get tired…
When I send it manually, all articles appears well, according to the overview.
So I give up planning emails, I will have to send them manually…

So to summarize: since I have this problem (since April) the articles that are published (since April) don’t appear if I plan the sending. But they appear correctly if I send the email directly.

And I see you coming, it’s not dependent on when I create the email, because I did it after April. So the April article should have appeared, no matter what. It’s your widget that’s not working anymore correctly, it’s not me that’s not doing it right. Thanks for getting back to the tech teams.

    Hi again @entrepriseheureuse,

I do apologize, but I think I am still not clear on what kind of email you are sending out, and what kind of block you are using.

    We would recommend either:

    • create a Post Notification email and set this to run either immediately after a new post is made, or a specific time daily or weekly; use a Latest Automated Content block to pull in any posts that have been made since your last Post Notification email was sent; or
    • create a Newsletter and use the Posts block to pull in specific posts you would like to highlight to your subscribers, and then send it out manually

It sounds to me like you are triggering a Newsletter to be sent automatically, tied to the publication of a new post. Are you perhaps using an Automation of some kind to do this?

Or do I have it wrong, and you are manually creating and sending a Newsletter on a regular basis, perhaps by copying the previous Newsletter and then sending out that copy?

Please walk us through the steps you are following to create and send an email so we can better understand what type of email you are sending and how it is being made. Screenshots of your emails and their settings would also be useful!
