• Hi. I’m using the Arjuna theme at https://www.osmingtonwhitehorse.info/

I have used the standard Recent comments widget. If somebody adds their website when they enter their comment, their name appears as a link and the link obviously picks up their website. I don’t really want the link to their website but that is not really the problem. If they don’t enter their own website, their name still appears as a link and if clicked, goes to a Page not found.

I have used this on another site which still runs WP 2.9.2 and the previous version of Arjuna and it works fine. Where the contributor has not entered a web link, their name does not appear as a link.

Where would I find the solution please. Is it a WP3 thing or an Arjuna thing?

Any help would be really appreciated.

  • My standard recent comments widget does just what you had in your old situation and I’m on 3.0.1. Your widget seems to fill the word “website” in the url-field by default.

Hi Roy. Yes, it does. Bit weird. I ghave hunted but can’t find the bit of code that does that.

Where do I find your widget Roy? Is it availablefor free use?

    Thanks for responding

    Michael

Sorry for the delay. What I meant to say was that I just use the standard recent comments widget that comes with WP by default. Maybe you have a conflicting plugin?

    Dear michaelseall,

Can I know whether your are using a plugin or widget which is already installed on your theme?

I have removed all plugins that are not in use. I am using an older version of the Arjuna theme on another site with WP 2.9.2 which works just fine. I’m therefore assuming that this is something to do with the newer version of Arjuna that is used on this site.

Thanks for your help anyway Roy.

I have removed all plugins that are not in use.

So it can still be a plugin? Deactivate ALL plugins and see if that helps. Then reactivate them one by one each time trying to if the problem returns.
