Recent Comments Widgets shows names as "Anonymous"

    first of all: thank you very much for this great theme, it not just beautiful, with all its features, it is real awesome!

    but since a recent update, there is a little problem:

    In the recent comments widget all names show up as “Anonymous”, but all the comments are not by “Anonymous”. (The real names are shown at posts) If i switch to the default theme (twentysixteen) the real names are correctly shown at the recent comments widget.

  • Hi brt. I just checked a test site I have running v1.5.7 and the Recent Comments widget displays the correct author name. Do you have any plugins installed that are related to comments or authors?

    thank you for your quick reply, you are absolutely right, it had nothing to do with the theme.

    the reason was a filter which i added to my childthemes function.php to open authors links in a new window. after removing that part everything is fine again!
