I have tried to publish a new post on my site. Even though WP says that the post was successful it is not displayed on the frontpage. Also, The new posts will appear on the post listing. I have tried about six times , but no success.

If this question has appeared before, I missed it.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue.

    James,

I don’t have any plugins activated and I tried to change my theme to to Ten Twenty and even the default, but I was unable to change the themes.

    Any other suggestions?

    I have upgraded to 3.0.1

I am really a newbe and not competent with WordPress.

…but I was unable to change the themes

were you unable to access your admi?

    t-p,

I log in as administrator, if that is what you mean. Forgive me, but I am a newbe.

If you can login to your admin, then as James suggested above, try switching to the Default theme that came with WordPress 3.0.1.

If you don’t have access to your admin area, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the Default theme (Twenty Ten theme) to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

It seems like I can’t make any changes to my frontpage, If I write a post everything tells mt that the post was successfully posted, but the front page does not display it. If I change the theme, all the listing tells me that the theme has been activated, but the front page does not change.

Is there a switch that would prevent the frontpage from updating? This is making me crazy.

I really appreciate the suggestions! I will try almost anything!!!

You may need to repair the database.

Access your WordPress database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel), check all of the tables, and choose “Repair tables” from the pull-down menu.

    Morning James,

I tried your suggestion; unfortunately, I had negative reults.

I think it has something to do with the post date.. check whether the date is accurate on server.. also.. do you put them in draft mode first and then publish them.. if yes then i don’t know but i also faced this problem once.

    I finally fixed the problem.

I deleted the blog and created another with essentially the same address and copied the information from the old one to the new one.

I really appreciate the suggestions and help – THANKS!

I just came to the conclusion that I had reached the point of diminishing returns. I decided it was easier to just start over.

    @richardsonron,
that is the last option really, back up your database and then install wordpress fresh and then import the backed database.

however, you could have still tried plenty of other options, but congrats for having it working again.
