I was planning my upgrade when all of a sudden I noticed that the last 5 or 6 posts have gone “missing”, sort of. I can see them in the Manage dashboard and even edit them but the preview shows them as 404. Even if I save them again.

I’m not sure how to check for where the content went or why it seems partially linked, so if someone has some ideas, I’d really appreciate it.

I was thinking that it would be better if all the posts were working before I upgraded. And it seems to be listing everything in reverse order; that is, from oldest to newest. I don’t know why. I don’t think I changed anything but I was poking around in the options a few days ago. I don’t recall changing anything.

I just tried to post one just now and it goes missing as well. Any thoughts on what to check/fix?

All comments/suggestions gratefully accepted. The site is https://www.coblentzclan.com/mattsblog, but of course, you can’t see the missing posts there…

  • Something is wrong with your permalinks settings (Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks). Confirm that Day and name is still selected, and then click Save Changes (do this even if you haven’t changed anything).

Well, that was it. I clicked on update permalinks, now everything shows up.

Thanks for the help! Now I can upgrade.
