recent posts plugin

Can someone recommend a good “recent posts” plugin? And then, is there a way to put it in the plugin folder without downloading and then uploading? I recently switched to a new computer and do not have my old https://FTP.Trying to use the FTP on my site manager, but haven’t gotten it to work.
