    Hi,

I stupidly dragged a recent posts widget to my sidebar this afternoon and now it’s stuck on the home page of my blog. I deleted it, removed it, re-added it, and so on with no different results.

This is the link to my blog: https://abloggingbride.com

I’d appreciate any help you can give! I’m just so frustrated at this point ??

    Thanks so much!

  • Start by deleting it.

I tried deleting it, but it never fully goes away. It stays within my inactive widgets box, but I can’t figure out how to get rid of it completely.

I have other widgets in my inactive box that aren’t an issue, so I figured this one shouldn’t be either. It’s just not deactivated. I read that some people had to remove something from their code, but I’m not even close to understanding how to do that.

There’s only 2 options: delete or drag over to inactive widgets, both of which I’ve tried. There’s no uninstall or anything and when I checked this morning, it was still there. I was hoping that maybe it would take 24 hours or something, but no luck.

I just downloaded a plugin called “widgets reset” and it reset all of my widgets except for the one in question. It’s been removed from the widgets column, but the recent post still appears in the sidebar of my blog. I can’t believe it won’t just go away.

Are you sure that you are not just seeing the default sidebar content? Have you tried adding an empty Text widget to your sidebar?
