recent posts with date & excerpt

I’ve written two hacks using MTdewVirus‘s “Recent Posts Hack” and “Recent Comments Hack“. These get the recent n posts -n with the date, title and an excerpt.
First before you use these, keep in mind I’m very new to php anyone who can improve on them please do.
