Recent update emptied side menu

    A recent update deleted all content from the side menu. (The menu that opens when clicking on the three horizontal lines icon on the top left.) That is annoying, to say the least…

    How do I restore the content of this (essential!) menu? (Where do I even find it now?)

    Same issue – seems to be update of parent theme which has borked widgets. My menu and footer widgets were all in “disabled widgets” – couldn’t move them back as the widgets for sidebar and footer were not there to drop them in. Ended up restoring theme from a backup I luckily had and disabled auto updates for now.
