While I understand the recent viewed products widget provides a personal view relevant to each viewer, I don’t understand why it appears to stop updating once it hits the limit set within the widget of up to 10 products.

I’ve tested with widget set to 1 product 3 and 5 and it works fine up until it hits the set limit. Once the limit is reached the widget view remains unchanged. If I drop history I can view products being added again up until the products hit the set limit.

I’d assumed the widget should keep rolling the latest product viewed in and the oldest out in conjunction with the set limit so the list shows the last products viewed. After all the widget is called recent viewed products not products viewed prior to hitting the widget display limit.

Guess I must be missing something because surely this can’t be how it works?

I can’t seem to find detailed documentation on this or any useful videos etc so being linked to info on this would be awesome.

    Cheers

This sounds a tad odd. Are you using a caching plugin by any chance? Are you still experiencing the same issue after deactivating all of your plugins (except WooCommerce) and switching to the default Twenty Seventeen theme?

Yeah it’s the same. It’s a clean/fresh site with only 4 products listed. I use cloudflare on the main domain however the staging sub hasn’t had the domain records altered to support caching etc. I tend to steer away from caching plugins. I find they’re annoying and more trouble than they’re worth and all hosting caching is also deactivated.

If you’re able to replicate that on a clean install without caching, then it might be worthwhile reporting that to our developers directly at github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues ??

Ok, I’ll most likely go and create another fresh install, adding a couple of products and see if I can recreate the issue again to triple check.. I will be surprised if I get a different outcome though as this site is extremely clean..

If I can I will link this thread to that ticket.

Just in case it helps someone, here’s the link to the developer report.

I’m marking this thread resolved given it’s being dealt with at github
