• I am about to begin working on a site where the client wants to upload training flash videos. These will be pay to access, and I can think of a few member plugins, suma, wp-member. But don’t necessarily want to block content from users, more I want to have someone buy an online training then have access to that training through their account on this site.

Any recommendations on plugins to help to accomplish that?

    thanks so much.

    Anyone?

Can you offer some additional info…I am not sure I completely understand what you are trying to accomplish, so I am unsure which of the hundreds of plugins developed for membership sites would fulfill your needs..

So does each user (client) need to have a unique membership so they can have access to unique training materials? Or is this more generic training that just needs to be protected until paid for?

If you use a plugin like WishList Member you can determine what content is protect or not protect, and what membership level has access to the specific content. And you can specify by category, page, post, or even sections of a page or post.

With more info I may be able to offer some additional help/suggestions!

I have looked at Wishlist, and I have used Suma. I think you have the general idea. there will be public users browsing the site, and information on available training programs. Once someone decides that they want to buy a specific training, they can purchase it (so e commerce), then they will have access to that training program inside their account. They won’t have access to any other training just the one they paid for…

    Does that make better sense?

    thanks for helping.

Here is what I am currently setting up for one of my websites…Which is similar in nature to your need…

I do video tutorials and offer them in a membership, however, I also see the benefit of having those tutorials available for individual purchase (pay-per-video), so I am setting up an option for people to buy one video at a time…(sadly wishlist does not support this).

I am using these two awesome plugins to configure this site…(these two plugins come from the same developer so they are designed to integrate easily!)

    eMember

    eStore

What I would suggest you do is set up eMember with as many membership levels as you have Training Programs, each program is its own membership level…Then us the eStore plugin to handle the purchasing…so when someone purchases they choose the Training Program they want and they will then have access to it.

Both of these plugins are simple to use, and anyone can manage the content very easily!

Does that help? Have anymore questions let me know…
