Recommendations for cloning site for testing purposes

    Hi, all!

    I’m looking for the most appropriate way to clone my site to test out new plug-ins before implementing on live site. I do not need to push the clone back to the live site.

    Looking at the free version of WP STAGING. Will this do the job? Looks like the free version clones to a subfolder on the same domain….. Can I be confident that the location of the subfolder will not create problems on the live site? We do have a subdomain that we can use to staging, but is it worth upgrading to Pro if the subdirectory method does the job?

    Is there a better free solution I should consider?

    The WP Staging plugin is a good option for cloning your site for testing purposes, however, my suggestion would be to search the www.ads-software.com plugin repository for various staging/cloning plugins, and check the reviews of any plugins you have in mind.

    While we are experts in our own extensions, third-party plugins, and themes are best supported by their developers as they have more knowledge of the features and limitations of their own plugins, and support for third-party themes/plugins is outside the scope of support we are able to provide.
