Recommendations For Hosting Large News Website

    Greetings All,

    I am currently on SiteGround but they just don’t offer the capacity needed for an online news and media agency.

    We’re at the point of having to host our media on Facebook and YouTube and direct our traffic off-site to those channels.

    Seeking (and grateful for any help) recommendations on hosting an online news and media agency with 5-10 posts a day containing media, videos, and photo galleries.

    Bonus Question: Any recommendations on hosting media so that it is all on-site and our socials can just direct to there?

    Honestly speaking of recommendations, i’m not going to name you anything, see the notice above, but you may want/need

    * A dedicated server with good network connection, fast and big storage
    * DDoS protection offered at Datacenter level with good response times from technical support (or 3rd party DDoS protection solution)
    * Consider using CDN or 3rd party solution for Video hosting.. Well.. I can name one here – VideoPress (included in Jetpack Pro plans)

    Performance:
    For news site consider using WordPress caching at maximum,
    a page cache plugin (there are many)
    and object caching (Redis or Memcached)
