A friend wants a handyman website where there’s a drop-down list of services for the user to choose from.

What’s unique, though, is all the handyman work has to be done in an 8-hour or 16-hour day. So my friend wants each service to have a time value, like 2.5 hours for installing some cupboards and 5 hours for painting a room. And when the user tries to choose more services than can fit into an 8-hour or 16-hour window, the booking portal stops the user from adding them to her cart.

The prospect also wants the user to put in their address first, and then based on the address, the booking would be sent to the team doing handyman services in that area.

Are there any plugins you can recommend that make this kind of booking portal possible? Or any plugins that can be customized like that? Or do you think that could only be developed?

    Thanks.

There are several WordPress plugins that offer booking and appointment features, but I’m not sure if there is one that meets all of the unique requirements you have listed. However, here are a few plugins that you may want to consider:

    1. Bookly: This is a popular plugin that offers online booking and scheduling services. It has a lot of customization options and allows you to create custom fields and forms. It also integrates with popular payment gateways and offers a variety of add-ons to enhance its functionality.
    2. Amelia: This plugin offers appointment booking and scheduling services for businesses. It has a user-friendly interface and allows you to create custom booking forms. It also integrates with WooCommerce and Google Calendar.
    3. Simply Schedule Appointments: This is a scheduling plugin that offers various features such as custom booking forms, email notifications, and calendar integration. It also has an add-on for group booking which may be useful for your friend’s business.

However, I’m not sure if any of these plugins have the specific feature to limit the amount of services a user can book based on an 8-hour or 16-hour window. This may require custom development to achieve.

As for the feature to send the booking to a team in the user’s area, this may be possible with some of these plugins if you set up different service providers based on location. However, this may also require custom development to achieve.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions!
