Recommended hosts for MU?

  • I’ve seen a lot of threads about people having trouble with this or that host and MU. Usually, there is also somebody who has managed to make things work.

    What I’d really like to hear of is are there any recommended VPS hosts for MU that have just basically worked without a ton of issues?

  • Note that everyone with issues has been on a cheap shared host. ??

    We don;t normally give recommendations here in the forums. (elsewhere like twitter or on our blogs, yes…)

    The reason I was asking is because, for example, Media Temple’s DV service, though not cheap or shared, seems to cause a good bit of frustration for people here, especially in making MU work with Plesk.

    I’m not really looking for Recommended Hosts (though I realize that that is the term I used) so much as hoping somebody might be able to mention that something has been refreshingly easy to work with.

    But that’s cool if the topic is somehow verboten. I guess that means I have to go follow a bunch of WP people on twitter now. Not that I mind.

    At one point I contacted people who ran sites similar to what I was doing and asked them what hosts they used. Then I searched forums for info on that host (like I’d search here for Media Temple if I was going to run WordPress) and see what comes up ??

    But. Since it gets wiggy fast, per the Forum welcome, we close topics like this due to the amount of spam that they attract. The WordPress team has provided a list of a few recommended hosting providers. For more details and other recommendations, please search through the forums or via Google (or your preferred search engine).
