Recommended Plugin for Downloads

  • I’m wondering what Plug-in people would recommend, if any, for what I want to do.

    I want to have a way to upload files on the back-end of wordpress without an FTP client from my computer. The simpler the better.

    Then have a way to password-protect these files for download and a way to put them on the site password protected.

    I thought the Download Manager plugin was perfect when I saw it but for some reason it doesn’t work and nothing downloads.

    Does anyone know of anything else that does something similar to achieve this end?
