Recommended single product image size?

  • Is there a recommended single product image size, or at least width? I notice that my image is displaying at 800×800 px, but that with the zoom feature, it appears to go to 2000px wide. Does the image need to be this wide?

    I notice that the customizer does not offer any options other than proportions for thumbnails.

    Want to make sure I don’t make images too large (even after optimizing) and slow down page loading.

    That should be the actual size of your image before uploading. If you want to have smaller size, you should consider resizing your image using image editing software before uploading.
