    Hello,

I’ve just changed my hosting, and I’d like to recover the tables I have previously created with tablepress. Unfortunately I did not export the tables. I honeslty forgot about the tables created with tablepress.

I do have backups of my entire site, created from my old hosting. I have a copy downloaded form the old hosting FTP to my hard drive. So I have the plugin folder. But I have no longer access to my old hosting.

Can I recover the information form the “tablepress” folder I copied from the old site?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

The tables are not stored in any files, but in the mySQL database. Do you have a backup of that as well?
Or how did you migrate all your posts/pages, etc.?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi there

    thanks for your quick response.

I do have a backup of the database. I imported all the posts and pages without problems. And for one moment I thought I would recover the tables after installing the plugin in the new website, but this is not happening.

How can now get the information from the database?

    Thank you

    Hi,

If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

thanks! I just had a look at your site, and it seems that no information about the TablePress tables where migrated. How did you restore the mySQL backup?

Can you check the backup file if it contains entries for “tablepress_table” (in the SQL code for the “wp_posts” database table)?

    Tobias

    Thank you

I’m not 100% sure, because I tried several options and then I left it for 3 complete weeks…

But I did one of the following, or both:
    – export an XML file from my old site and impoed it into my new site’s wordpress desktop.
    – download the old site’s FTP contents and upload it to the new site (overwriting)

In any case, I open the XML file in my hard drive and I do find entries containing “tablepress_table”. I also do find text that I know was at the tables I want to recover. So it looks like the info is there. How to use it?

    Thank you

    Hi mdc144,

please also describe your scenario in more detail.
    How did you migrate?
Do you still have access to the old site?
    etc.
