• The hosting company I’ve been using for more than 5 years suddenly went out of business and has not been responsive at all to pleas for assistance in retrieving files and gaining access to the server.

I have the same number of years invested in developing my site and its content… it has 921 pages on Google.

I had WP plug-ins installed for the purposes of back-up which I installed in the earliest days of my site. At this point, I can’t say for sure what those plug-ins were… it seems so long ago.

Is there any way at all to retrieve what was on the servers in regard to my site without the cooperation of the hosting company? Or, am I looking at the horrific task of trying to do it all over from scratch… not sure I can even do that. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly suggested. I am effectively out of business and will suffer substantial income loss.

No. If the hosting company won’t allow you physical access to your files and database, and you never took any backups and stored them off-site or locally, then it’s gone. The best you might hope for is cached search engine content that you might be able to copy.
