All of a sudden I have someone in The Netherlands that tries to log in every day and tries to use the same password which fails then is blocked for four hours. The ISP addresses change. I’ve tried to set up an ISP range but that hasn’t worked. Any suggestions?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @madgeshatbox,

What was the IP range you attempted to block, just so I can see if the formatting was correct? Generally though, a manual blocking strategy even in cases such as this is unnecessary as Wordfence will perform these blocks for you based on your settings, or our own records of bad IPs.

If you think 4 hours is too lenient and your settings are not deterring the attempts, you can change your Brute Force Protection or Rate Limiting settings to have a longer lockout of days or even months using the appropriate dropdown list. Don’t forget to hit the blue SAVE CHANGES button when you’re done.

Also, if you notice they are always using the same username AND that username doesn’t exist, you can add it to Wordfence > All Options > Brute Force Protection > Immediately block the IP of users who try to sign in as these usernames

I hope that helps you out.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
