    For the past couple of days since a plugin update, I’ve been getting email sent to me about an Event Post Update like:

    Event: Post Update
    Website: https://ourcommunitycup.com
    IP Address: 207.46.13.173
    Reverse IP: msnbot-207-46-13-173.search.msn.com
    Date/Time: March 17, 2019 2:45 am

    Message: Rsvpmaker status has been changed; details: ID: 5542,Old status: new,New status: publish,Title: Confirmation:5227

    And:

    Event: Post Update
    Website: https://ourcommunitycup.com
    IP Address: 192.185.92.147
    Reverse IP: 192-185-92-147.unifiedlayer.com
    Date/Time: March 17, 2019 12:35 am

    Message: Rsvpmaker status has been changed; details: ID: 5540,Old status: new,New status: publish,Title: Confirmation:5238

    Has my site been hacked?

    No, the latest release treats confirmation and reminder messages as separate posts, allowing you to edit them like any other content with the WordPress editor. Those posts were automatically created when an event that had the content stored the old way (as metadata on the event post) is used in an RSVP transaction.

    Version 5.9.6 handles this better. This process was only supposed to run when a confirmation message needed to be displayed after a registration or when the confirmation was being edited, but it was being triggered when an event was merely viewed. I ran into some serious DB performance issues on one of my own large RSVPMaker implementations as a result.
