    Hi-
I’m running EO 1.61 and we are seeing that if we sent an event to recur daily (checked) from a start date (eg. 1/1/13) and end date (eg. 2/1/13) and an until date (eg.2/1/13) The event record will so the correct date range, but the list view in the admin (all events) and the list view in the public side will be incorrect. I appears that the incorrect range set of by the number of days contained within the range. (ie. a 9 day range shows as starting 9 days later than it should and ends 9 days after that incorrect starting date.
Follow these steps to replicate the issue/
    1) Create an event
    2) Set Start date to 6/1/13
    3) Set End date to 6/10 13
    4) Set to All Day
    5) Set to Daily
    6) Repeat every 1 day
    7) Until 6/10/13
    8) Publish the record
    9) Go to All Events view and look at the range. I will be 6/10/13 through 6/19/13 instead of what is set in the record.
Please let me know as soon as this can be resolved since it is a significant issue for our site.
    All best,
    Z

  • So following these steps ( a daily recurring event, – the first of which starts 1st June 2013, and ends of 10th June 2013 and recurs until 10th) – I get what is expected in the admin calendar – namely 10 occurrences of this event, first one starting on the 1st June and ending on the 10th, and the last one starting on the 10th June and ending on the 19th.

On the admin list view I see that the event starts on the 1st June and ends on the 10th June. This is also expected as this refers to the first occurrence of that date. The recurrence summary says “[It reoccurs] every day until Jun, 10th 2013” – again this is expected as the last occurence is on the 10th June.

(I’m saying this because I realise that the term ‘End date/time’ can be a bit ambiguous)

Using the [eo_events] shortcode I get the following:

Debug Test on June 1st, 2013
Debug Test on June 2nd, 2013
Debug Test on June 3rd, 2013
Debug Test on June 4th, 2013
Debug Test on June 5th, 2013
Debug Test on June 6th, 2013
Debug Test on June 7th, 2013
Debug Test on June 8th, 2013
Debug Test on June 9th, 2013
Debug Test on June 10th, 201

    Again as expected.

Can you confirm if you’re seeing something completely different? Is the admin calendar correct – that is always a good indication of whether the dates in the database are incorrect or not.

    Hope this helps :).

    Thanks Stephen-
So are you saying I have something set incorrectly? Why when I say it should end and run until the 10th is it ending on the 19th as you state above? My application has events “exhibits” that run for a set number of days and then end.

Just to be clear. I want the an event that is one day long that recurs everyday for a set number of days.

In the case of the example above you’ve set the event to last 9 days, and repeat every day until the 10th. The 10th is the date of the last occurrence – which lasts 9 days, so the last occurrence ends on the 19th.

I think what you’re after (using the above example) is to set the start/end date to 1st June. Then set it to repeat until the 10th June.

This would create a series of 1-day events, starting on the 1st, 2nd through to 10th.

Currently its creating a series of 9-day events starting on the 1st, 2nd, through to 10th.

Just got your second post – then yes – set the event to start and end on the same day then repeat it until you want it to finish.

The start/end date time refers to the first occurrence only. Then you have the option of repeating that event and regular intervals / specific dates.

E.g. if you want an event that lasts all day and repeats three times, say, on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. You would send the event to start & end on the 1st and then repeat it daily until the 3rd.

    I hope that’s clear :S
