    When I create or change a recurring event to have a category, the category shows there but not when editing instances of the recurring event. The instances (whew!) apparently have the correct category since they are listed when the category page is displayed. But they should also show in the instance edit panel and be filterable by category in the dashboard and they are not.

    Not being able to filter recurring event instances by category in the dashboard is confusing and if you edit an instance to detach it from the recurring event you should not have to go back and edit the recurring event to figure out what categories the detached event should be in. This seems like a major bug to me. Please explain.

    are you using MultiSite? If so there is a bug that’s been fixed in the dev 5.4.4.2

    otherwise, if the instances show the right categories (try editing an instance and see if they have them set there) then this may be something else, e.g. another plugin, your theme, custom coding, that may be preventing this from working.

    Thanks Marcus — I am using Multisite and look forward to trying it again in a future release. And I will ask my users to be patient.
