Yes, either one list in which both type of events are separated or two separate list for each type of event.

event is part of a recurring set

event is not part of a recurring set, meaning it is a single, normal event

try to use shortcode [events_list] then user search attribute recurring=1

eg.
[events_list recurring=1 limit=10]
