I am using Events Manager on a triathlon club website and have created recurring events for our training sessions. These work fine until the recurring event is then edited when the event then disappears from the events list on the home page widget area. The event is still in the recurring events list on the dashboard but even if the recurring event is deleted it still leaves behind all incidences of it in the ‘events’ section. If the recurring event is then recreated, without manually deleting all the recurrences in events when the recurring event has been deleted, the event then shows up twice in the list. It doesn’t matter what edits are done, change of owner, publishing date, text update, location change etc. the same thing happens. Has anyone found a cure for this as manually deleting the events through the dashboard takes a while and I’m not sure where to do look in the database folder structure to see where the events are located to be able to do it from the back end which would be a lot quicker. Thanks!

    hi,

at the moment editing a recurring template under Events > Recurring Events it will delete everything including bookings and recreate new set of single recurrences but this is already set for a major update (no eta yet)

Thank you for your quick reply, much appreciated. I created events going up to 2025, is there a quick way of removing them from the database and if so in which folder/table would this be please? Sorry to drag this one out but if you can please advise I would be very grateful.

Do you mean the individual single events in the sequence?

Yes that’s right. When the recurring event is deleted it still leaves all occurrences of the event left behind so when the ‘events’ link is clicked they are all there. I have been deleting them in batches per page of events using the mass action tool to delete them but if it’s possible to do this from the back end in the database or in file manager that would be a huge help.

Many thanks again for your help, much appreciated.

you can try to use plugin adminer or your hosting provider phpmyadmin and then try to look into table wp_em_events or wp_posts since EM is using custom post types.

Thanks very much, I’ll give that a go.
