Hi @andawn24, thanks for getting in touch.

We don’t have full administrative access over the forums as they’re run by www.ads-software.com, so unfortunately reopening an expired topic for editing isn’t possible.

Just to clarify, you’re having wp-includes/js/imgareaselect/imgareaselect.min.css flagged and it returns if you try to remove it?

It might be worth reaching out to SG Optimizer as I don’t have more specific information regarding whether they are connected with the file. I do see that jquery.imgareaselect.min.js?is a part of WP core, whereas a minified version of imgareaselect.css isn’t. That does seem to still point to the chance a minify/optimize type plugin is involved.

Let me know what you find out!
    Peter.

Thanks for the response Peter. Yes, wp-includes/js/imgareaselect/imgareaselect.min.css?is flagged and it returns if I try to remove it. I will reach out to SG Optimizer support and see what they have to say.

Update from SiteGround is that it should not be coming from SG Optimizer because that is not where their files are located. The only other minification I use is Perfmatters but I actually just started using it very recently and the issue has been coming up since long before then. I may go through the headache of disabling each plug-in one by one and re-scanning to see if I can discover if it’s coming from another plug-in…will update here if so. I can say that deleting the file does not seem to have any adverse effect on my website, but it would be nice if the file stopped creeping back.

One of our sites has the same issue with that file appearing in WordFence.

Interestingly enough it is hosted at SiteGround as well and also using SG Optimizer. I know they’ve denied it being the platform a few times but it’s an interesting coincidence. ??
