Redesigning an existing site with WP

You could install it in a subdirectory and then

or you can leave off nice permalinks to start, and directly access via index.php, so long as your site normally pulls HTML first, THEN php files (so index.htm/html will be taken first if it exists). That’d leave your html site in control, until you remove the index.htm, OR change your site to pull PHP first.
