Redirect

  • I have the role EDITOR set to redirect to the homepage. I have the force hiding admin in front end turned off. This configuration shows edit page on the page they are allowed to edit. When they click edit page it takes them back to the home page.

    If I turn on Can Access WP-Admin, the redirect no longer works and it takes them directly tot he dashboard.

    How do I setup so they don’t go directly to the dashboard, but can edit the page they are allowed to edit?

    Is the Editor Role created via UM > User Roles? Or is it the default WP Editor role?

    The user with Editor Role can access Edit page right? Or it keeps them redirect to Dashboard instead of the Editor page? Is there any other role assigned to your account?

    Under Administrative Permissions for the role:
    If I have “Can access wp-admin” checked, users in the role get redirected to the dashboard at login, even though Login Options shows they should be redirected to a certain page.
    They are able to edit the pages they have access to edit.
    If I have “Can access wp-admin” unchecked, users redirect to the homepage, which is not the page listed in the user role.
    When they go to the page they can edit, it gives them the option to edit the page they have access to edit, but when you click on it, it takes them to the homepage.

    Either way the redirect isn’t redirecting to correct page. Non admin users should not be directed to the dashboard upon login, but need to be able to edit their pages.

    Hi @summitwinterguard

    Did you create the role as a custom role or is it generated by default? If you created a custom role, you should have the ability to add the user role capabilities. Please see the screenshot in the link:

    I have tried with both. My issue is the redirect doesn’t redirect to the address entered for the role upon login. It either overrides and goes directly to the wp-admin dashboard or shows edit page in the toolbar at the top but doesn’t allow editing, it forwards to the homepage when you select edit page. The user has the capability to edit the page. The redirect for the role isn’t redirecting.
