    Hi!

First of all, your plugin is awesome! ??

We were hoping you could help us with our setup.

So when you navigate to one of our course pages (as a non-logged-in user), you are given the option to “enroll now” where you can additionally choose to login rather than register.

What we are hoping to change, is the message that is displayed by the shortcode [lifterlms_checkout]. Essentially we want it to take the user back to the course they were looking at, rather than offering to take them to the course dashboard.

This can be done perhaps with an automatic redirect OR changing the wording to say the following.

    Returning User:

    Welcome back!
You are already enrolled in this course. Click below to dive back in.
[button] (this goes to the course)

    New User:

    You’re in!
You have been successfully enrolled in this course. Click below to start the course.
[button] (this goes to the course)

Is this something that can be done? If so, can you direct us to documentation we can look at so we can implement it?

    Thank you!

  • Hi @daneloctober,

Wonderful! We’re so glad you’re loving LifterLMS!

If I’m understanding what you’re looking to do correctly you can set up the redirect after purchase/enrollment on the access plan for the course!

At the very bottom of the access plan there will be an option to have the checkout redirect to a WordPress page and then choose the course the access plan is on to have it redirect back to the course!

    I hope this helps!

Let us know if you have any further questions or if you need a different work around!

    Thanks and take care,

    Hi Natalie!

    Thanks for your response!

I checked the courses we have and the access plans are actually set to redirect back to the course. But it’s just not happening. I even tried adding a custom URL and set it to the course URL, but it’s not redirecting. I’m seeing a redirect parameter added to the URL of the checkout page, but it just stays there with the same message:

“You already have access to this Course! Visit your dashboard here [link to user dashboard].”

Let me know if there’s something else we can tweak or check. Thank you!

    Hi Natalie!

Not sure if you’ve been notified of my reply. Please see my response above.

    Thank you! ??

    @daneloctober,

By default (without using any custom redirect urls) users are automatically redirected to the course upon checkout/enrollment.

Is this *not happening* on your site? If it is you’re encountering a bug of some kind. Could you post a copy of your system report (see the sticky on this form for a guide on how to get it and post it)

I think, though, that what you’re actually asking is how to modify the redirect after logging in. Steps to take to get to what you’re talking about:

    1) Visitor comes to your course
    2) Clicks “Enroll”
    3) Chooses to login on the checkout page
    4) Is greeted with a message that states that they already have access to the course

You then want the link in the message to direct to the course as opposed to the dashboard.

Is this what you’re actually asking/looking to do?

If it is I *DO NOT HAVE* any options to reconfigure this behavior. We don’t have an option for everything (for what I hope is obvious reasons). Although what you’re noting seems like it should be default behavior. If I am understanding everything correctly let me know. I’ll open an issue as a feature enhancement and see if we can get this setup as the default behavior in a future version of LifterLMS.

    Thanks,

    Hi @thomasplevy !

Is this what you’re actually asking/looking to do?

That’s exactly what I was asking!

It’s too bad there’s currently no option to do that right now. But I do hope you pick it up and implement it in the future!

    Thank you for your help!
