  • Can you explain further what you mean? I don’t fully understand the question.

Yes Alan, thank you for quick answer. I mean whole specific folder or category, like you have https://websitename.com/photos/2022/01 and 2021/01, 02, etc. – redirect all with /photos/????. Everything beginning with /photos, no matter what is after that

    Hi,

The plugin handles 404 redirection, i.e. if a URL is attempted and does not exist you get a 404 page, this plugin then steps in and redirects the 404

I think what you are asking is if a page DOES exist but follows a certain URL structure then you want to redirect. This is possible I believe via various methods but it is not a feature or purpose of this plugin.

Nope, some pages does exist with different link, those i have redirected manually, but there is a bunch of pages, whole categories (articles, galleries – hundreds of them) which does not exist anymore and i need them redirect to homepage. Redirection of all 404 does not work.

    Ah I don’t fully understand.

So page https://domain.com/photos/not_exist does not exist
and returns 404 and you are saying that does not redirect to home page with the plugin configured and active?

Yes, automatic redirection of 404 is not working at all (i followed troubleshooting guides), but i don’t need it necessary. I will be okay with some kind of bulk redirecting all pages having /something/ in their path

I just tested, to reassure myself it does work with example.com/photos/not_found_page and it does in a vanilla install with Twenty Twenty Three theme and photo created as a custom post type?

How is the tag ‘photo’ generated? Is that from a plugin or custom code or a post category or page parent?

I don’t know how it is generated because it is from 11 yrs old web which is gone. I just need to redirect all incoming from google cache with /photos/ or /articles/ to redirect to HP

Ok, put it another way, it SHOULD be working so I don’t understand on your site the specific reason why it is not.

If you could share a link to your website front end I could inspect that to see if anything is obvious.

If you share a link here it WILL get indexed by google and the mods WONT remove it. If you want a link that is not indexed you can start a new topic and use the relevant link box that wont get index.

If either way is not suitable you can email me directly with the URL but the discussion will continue here on the forum.
