I have two websites. I wanted the old website to redirect to the new one. So I put the domain name under the redirects.

Everything was fine for a while.

Then, I needed to direct something off of the new site to a different one so I downloaded the plugin again on the new site. Now, when I try to access the old site using the /wp-admin suffix, it takes me to the dashboard of the new site.

Does that make sense? It’s kind of confusing.

It used to be that if I typed in oldsite.com it’d take me to newsite.com. Which is what I wanted. But if I typed in oldsite.com/wp-admin, it’d take me to the dashboard for that site.

NOW, if I type in oldsite.com/wp-admin, it takes me to the dashboard for the newsite. And then weird s–t started happening.

    What’s going on?

  • abthorpe,
It sounds like you might need to clear your browser cache.

If you try accessing the old site wp-admin page using an incognito tab (or private browsing tab) do you still have the issue?

Also, you can try to use https://oldsite.com/wp-login.php and see if you still have an issue. If I am not mistaken, the plugin should NOT redirect the login page, so it should not redirect it even if you added that into the redirect URL.

Try those things and see if you still have an issue. If so, let me know and I will see what we can do to help.

    Warmest regards,
    Don
