Hi, I’ve got an issue with an image gallery.

I uploaded an image in a gallery with links towards a category page. Since that, my category page redirects to the image one. On the 8-image gallery (all image having a link to a category page), this is the only one with that 301 redirect.

    Here is the image page:

    https://firststepaway.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/italie.png

    And the category page:

    https://firststepaway.com/italie

How is it possible to delete the redirect (=keeping the category page visible instead of the image page)?

    Many thanks for any help!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello!

    1. Can you please let us know what it means “image with links towards a category page”?
    2. Is a blog posts category?
    3. Can you please remove that image from gallery and follow this link https://firststepaway.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/italie.png to check if the redirect still exists ?
    4. What are your permalinks settings?

    Hello,

    1. I wasn’t clear, sorry. I meant that I put a link on every image of the gallery: these links lead towards a category (blog post category).
    2. It is, it should appear like this category: https://firststepaway.com/equateur
    3. I removed the image from the gallery and I also deleted it in the meda library: the redirect still exists (301).
    4. The permalinks settings:
    • for post: /%category%/%postname%
    • for category and tag: .

Can you please share the screenshot where you put the link on each image in the gallery?

Please try to update permalinks to https://example.com/sample-post/ (post name)

There should be a redirect to 404 error page https://firststepaway.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/italie.png if there is no image, it’s a standard functionality for WordPress.

We also recommend you to switch to the default WordPress theme, maybe the custom theme affects the issues with the images.

Hi, I tried to upload again the image in the media library, with a different name, alt text and title. Then, I added the image in the gallery and put the link towards the blog post category… and it worked!

Seems like the issue is solved. Thank you for your help and time!
