Redirect from Blogspot Opens up my Control Panel

  • I have an blogspot blog that I forwarded to a WordPress blog by entering the new URL in the redirect in Settings at Blogger.com

    However, it doesn’t fully redirect automatically. If you type in my old blogspot address, blogger says “You are about to be redirected,” and then asks if you want YES or NO.

    If you click yes, it will forward to my WP blog. If you click NO, it duumps them right into my blogger control panel.

    Anybody ever seen this before and how do IFIX it?

  • Perhaps you should ask at blogger.com?

    If you just set up the redirect, it may take some time to have it take. That’s the same sort of redirect message a person gets when redirecting from a blogspot url to their own domain redirected if you had used Blogger, rather than WordPress.

    The redirect message shows up sometimes for about a day until the change is completed with Blogger. So, if you just set up the redirect, you maybe just need to wait a bit until it works properly – possibly an entire day. Otherwise, as esmi suggested they might be able to assist you over at the blogger forum.

    Thanks for the feedback. I’ll wait a few days and see what happens. I wish I could get help from the Blogger forum. ??

    That’s one of the biggest challenges with using Blogger. When you run into an issue, support is just not there!
