I recently migrated my wordpress.com site to www.ads-software.com through Bluehost.

The name servers are currently pointed to ns1.bluehost.com, ns2.bluehost.com, which is my www.ads-software.com site but there is a redirect loop between the .com & .org sites.

I am also now unable to login to my www.ads-software.com admin as it states my user name or password is incorrect.

I left my user name & password the same as what Bluehost had provided me when they migrated my site, so I know my login info is not wrong.

I called Bluehost support and they said my site had propagation issues but they could not elaborate further on the source of the problem.

This is my domain for reference: cvtliving.com

Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks

  • Propagation means that the nameserver changes have not fully changed to your new site – it can take 24-72 hours for that to happen. BUT, I do get your site on Bluehost at your domain name. Have you cleared the cache and cookies on your browser?

Yes, I have cleared the cache & cookies. Viewing the site does not seem to be an issue but I cannot login.

Then try resetting your password using one of these methods –

Do note that your login to your old site and your login here are not the same as the login to your new site. Likewise, your login to your hosting account is not going to be the same as the login to your WP site hosted there.

Yes, I understand my log in for here, old site (.COM), new site (.ORG) & hosting site are all separate.

I am able to log in to all of them except the new site (.ORG).

I cannot get into the admin panel for it and thus cannot reset pw.

When I try to reset it says it emailed the reset info to the email address they have on file.

I have not received an email so I am wondering if that is due to the fact that Bluehost migrated my site and provided new login info for me and perhaps did not include my email address into whatever they have on file for me?

Yes, the email problem is likely with how your email is set up with BH. You may need to use an SMTP plugin to get it working.

BTW, read that article again – there are several methods that do not require you to login – but you will need to access your site files on the server or your database.

Thank you very much for your help, since the problem is on BH’s end I I have called them and sorted out the login info issue.

So glad to hear that :)!
