Redirect Loop Error

Hello guys/gals,

This is my first attempt at installing wordpress ever.
As of right now what i have done is, created a static webpage with a link (“blog”) to the index.php in the wordpress 4.1 folder that i downloaded.

After i did that, and ftp’d the whole directory which includes my website’s files along with the wordpress, I went to my website and clicked the blog link. It just told me to click the button to create the wp-config online. But the button didn’t work, so I just edited the sample wp-config manually and file transferred that. Now, when I click the blog link it says this webpage has a redirect loop.

I’ve been trying all sorts of different solutions that supposedly worked for others but none have worked for me (been going at this for a couple hours).

Help would be greatly appreciated!
