I have a custom post type set up on my site called stories. I have set up a restriction for this post type so that only logged in members can access it. I have the option set to redirect non logged in members to the login page. However, this does not work correctly for the main /stories archive page. If a non logged in user navigates to /stories – the main archive page – they are redirected to the login page but when they login they are redirected to the first story post rather than the main archive page incorrectly. Is there a way to fix this to redirect them back to the archive page rather than the first post?

The same problem also exists with bbpress forums. Rather than redirecting them back to /forums it redirects them to the first forum rather than the archive of all forums.

    Thank you for reporting this.

I think I know what the issue might be. Just to be sure: The restrictions work as expected, it is only the redirects that doesn’t work properly?

That’s correct! Hope you can find a solution.

I just want to let you know that I have a fix for this, but I haven’t had time to release a new version yet. Hopefully I can do it this week.

Did you push this fix? I currently cannot get the redirect to trigger at all. it blocks the content, but no redirect. And this is a single page – not archive.

Unfortunately I still haven’t had time to release the new version. Your problem doesn’t seem to be related to this one though.

Could you please open a new support thread and provide as many details as possible, ie. if you’ve used shortcodes or conditions to restrict content?
