    Hi guys,

I′m having a small issue here, and I was hopping you could help me out.

I got this theme that when a customer purchases, it allows the customer to put a review. The problem is that as i dont want to redirect people to languages based on their browser language, or ip, when someone goes to https://www.oxynergy.com it will go to the English version, which is… alright.

But in terms of placing a review, if they go to their dashboard an clic on the product they bought it will go to a 404 page becase of this:

real link for Spanish product: https://www.oxynergy.com/es/producto1
the link in the dashboard: https://www.oxynergy.com/producto1

Of course the real link in the english version should be https://www.oxynergy.com/product1 and not producto1.

So because of this I was thinking… is it possible to make people redirect after they logged in, depending on their billing or shippin address? That way i could redirect them when they are loged in to their languages and avoid getting 404 pages if by mistake they are in the primary language.

    Thanks
    Kind regards

Thank you very much for your question.

First of all i don’t know what theme are you using and if it is compatible with wpml. Please provide more details about this theme.

On the other hand the functionality you are describing seem that it has some malfunction and maybe we should check it with our compatibility team.

You last question, seems very good and it is something different from your original problem. We can think to implement it as a new feature to our plugin. I have already created a feature request to our list.

So at this time it would be great if you provide us details about your theme to take a look.

Thank you very much for your post.

    Hi Andreas,

I’m glad I can drop some good new functionalities for the community in here, and the one I just expressed would be AMAZING.

In regards to my theme, as far as the developer states IT IS compatible with WPML and in fact everything seems to be working just fine. The theme name is Aurum (here is a link https://themeforest.net/item/aurum-minimalist-shopping-theme/9600822)

If it where necessary we could try to see how can i send you some private credentials to see it your self.

    Thanks
    Kind regards

Thank you andresmolina about your reply and thank you for your kind words!

As I can see from our compatibility list this plugin is not wpml certified.

Maybe the theme is working perfect, but our compatibility team should say that.

Can you please open a new ticket in wpml.org and re-write there the problem with the 404 error?

If you like please at the end of your message there, mention that you have opened a ticket already in wp.org.

Also please add a comment here with the link of the ticket so i can follow up.

Thank you very much for one more time

    Hey!

What plugin are you refering too?

the only plugin involved in this case is woocommerce and as far as i know is totally compatible with.

I cant open a ticket in wpml.org, as the website is not directly mine, but of a client of me. So he bought the license with you, and last time I asked, he dont know anything about login to wpml.org.

    Thanks
    Kind regards

Hello again and thank you for your reply.

The problem you described at your 1st post, says that you have problems in this specific theme with links that leads to 404 error due to wrong links with language.

This problem does not involve only woocommerce. This problem involves WPML suite and probably we have a compatibility issue with the theme.

The theme is not in our compatibility list, so our team should investigate this further.

Apart of that as I told you in WCML we will look on a new feature to redirect customers after login to specific language. But that does not mean that if we implement this, the problem you mentioned will be fixed(probably not).

Your customer bought his license from wpml.org. So he has already credentials to login in his panel(https://wpml.org/account/).

With these credentials, he can also open a ticket in the support area (https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/).

If he don’t know his credentials, there is a procedure for password reset (https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/).

If this procedure doesn’t work for him, please feel free to contact with us in this form : https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ and explain his difficulties to access his account.

If you need any other help do not hesitate to ask.

    Thank you very much

    Hey!

I found the error/bug or what ever you want to call this.

If you go and translate the URL slug: product in the String translation function, for example:

    Original lang (english): Shop
    Secondary lang (spanish): Tienda

Then it all crash up whe doing what I mentioned above. I guess this is not a bug in the template but a bug in WPML it self. Would you please correct me if im wrong and/or guide me on how can this be fixed, if possible?

    Thanks
    Kind regards

    Good Morning!

Thank you for your message. I tried to replicated the problem you mentioned but I couldn’t.

We should look in depth at your installation and ensure where the problem is coming from and debug it (if the problem is coming from wpml, wpml team should look on this).

However I left a note in wpml team, but I cannot guarantee when they will look at it.

If you wish quicker support, you should follow the procedure I advised you in my previous post.

Thank you very much for your time.
