  • Sorry it doesn’t seem to work for you.

The first thing I would suggest, is go to tools>settings>permalink and hit save

If that doesn’t fix it this may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.
There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/

Hi Alan wow that was a quick reply! Thank you!

I tried saving permalinks but the problem still exists, I think it’s a conflict with my multi vendor plugin so not to worry, your plugin works for all my other pages that don’t have ‘shop’ in the url (which is built by the vendor plugin).

Thank you again for your speedy response ??

Thanks for getting back. Yes likely it is doing its own redirect.

Can you advise what the plugin is, as I always like to at least try and resolve, if I know the plugin i can test my end and see what is going on.

Aww that’s great thanks Alan. The multi vendor plugin I use is called Dokan:
    https://wedevs.com/dokan/

I use Business version, but the free version creates the shop pages too so will be fine for testing:

    Many thanks,

    Karen

    Hi @kindpreneurs

Upon further investigation, I’ve found out that the Dokan plugin is not using the WordPress native 404 redirection whenever a vendor doesn’t exist. It uses their own ajax response to manipulate the 404 page display.

As much as we want to help you, this is beyond our ability to make changes as this is a custom functionality made by the Donkan plugin. I would suggest reaching out to their support team and see if there is something they could do about the issue.
